In this course, students will learn practical skills to carry their firearms with confidence. This is a live-fire shooting class that teaches fire control discipline, proper carry and presentation of a firearm in a combat scenario, holster selection, use of low light, lasers, tactical and administrative reloading, and proper use of concealment and cover.

“Students who have already taken a Utah CFP course will learn real world skills to be safer and more effective with their defensive arms,” said On Target Chief Instructor and CEO Dan Kidder. “They will learn proper concealment techniques, how to draw and present their arms in a defensive situation, proper target identification and what is beyond their target, how to shoot in little to no light by integrating a flashlight into their presentation, and how to reload and use cover in a firefight.”

Kidder, who taught these same skills to federal agents, as well as  local and state law enforcement agencies, and who was an adjunct instructor at the FBI Academy will bring more than 20 years of experience to the training.

“After years of teaching law enforcement these vital skills, examining after-action reports, and using forensic analysis of real life shootings, we have been able to structure a course that brings the best of real-world combat to the average concealed firearms permit holder,” Kidder said.

The seven-hour course places the student in a realistic environment to examine options that best suit the student’s skill-level, wardrobe, daily activities, and potential threats so they can be an effective carrier of a concealed firearm.

Pre-registration is required and the class is limited to 10 students. Registration may be completed online at On Target’s website, www.utontarget.com or by calling (435) 868-8919.

Students will need their own personal carry gun, 300 rounds of ammunition, eye and hearing protection, a quality tactical flashlight (SureFire, Streamlight, or comprable), a holster and two spare magazines. All other materials, including targets will be provided. Please bring a bag lunch.

The cost of ignorance is far higher than the price of our training.
