Our Courses

  • Survival Camp
    On Target offers this three day course and camp out with wilderness survival seminars, gear reviews, skill development and workshops. Participants will live off of their emergency evacuation (GOOD, 72 Hour Kit) for the duration to learn which gear works and which gear falls short. Seminars and workshops include:
    • Fire building
    • Evacuation/72 hour kit review
    • Shelter building
    • Temperature regulation
    • Emergency Medical Diagnosis and Treatment
    • Edible and Medicinal Plants

    Cost $300 per family (max 4, $50 per person additional)
  • Utah Bail Enforcement Firearms Certification
    On Target has partnered with Oracle Training Group and Nighthawk Fugitive Recovery Services to bring the Bail Enforcement Firearms Certification Course to Central and Southern Utah. The course is 16 hours and includes a graded shooting test. Scores are provided to the Utah BCI Bail Enforcement Division. In addition to the training, On Target provides instruction to help you pass this certification. The cost of the 16-hour course is $200 and the 8-hour renewal is $150 and is provided on an as-needed basis. To register for this training, please contact us.
    Pre-requisite: Possession of a Utah Bail Enforcement Certification or registration for the 16 hour Bail Enforcement Course with either Oracle Training Group or Nighthawk Fugitive Recovery Services.
  • NRA Basic Rifle and Pistol Shooting Course
    This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols or semi-automatic or bolt action rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting or Rifle Shotting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol or Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
  • NRA FIRST Steps Rifle and Pistol
    FIRST (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) STEPS is the latest addition to the NRA's training programs for new shooters. It provides hands-on orientation to one specific pistol model in as little as three hours, including a one-hour shooting session on a range. This course is a handgun familiarization course and does not qualify for the Utah CFP.
  • Advanced Personal Carry
    Learn practical skills to carry your firearms with confidence. This is a live-fire shooting class that teaches fire control discipline, proper carry and presentation of a firearm in a combat scenario, use of low light, lasers, tactical and administrative reloading, and proper use of concealment and cover.     Pre-requisite: Attendance of a Utah CFP class through On Target or possession of a Utah Concealed Firearms Permit.
    Cost is $100 per student.
  • Hand to Hand Combat
    When it comes right down to it there are only two roles in any attack; target and threat. Many attackers think that they are in the role of the threat, but how comforting would it be to know that when presented with a life and death struggle, you could reverse the roles and instantly disable or even kill your attacker with ruthless and clinical efficency. This is what you will learn in Marines Corps Hand to Hand Combat for Women. Contact us to schedule a class for your women's group. Requires two 3-hour sessions. Minimum 20 students required. Cost $35 per student or $700 per class.
  • Advanced Tactical Urban
    Learn techniques used by S.W.A.T. Teams and U.S. Special operations units to conduct close quarters battle (CQB) in an urban enviornment. Utilizing live fire drills with pistols, tactical shotguns, and assualt carbines, learn proper room clearing techniques, use of cover, team tactics, reloading and malfunction drills, communication, and marksmanship skills. Cost is $500 per student and covers 3 days of training and instruction.
    Pre-requisite: Advanced Personal Carry course and possession of a Utah Concealed Carry Permit.
  • One on One Marksmanship
    Improve your rifle or pistol marksmanship skills with personal instruction. Learn the fundamentals, practice proper techniques, utilize learning aids to hone your shooting skills from a variety of positions an in different environments. Includes a practical shooting assessment and a personalized course of instruction to match training to your current grasp of concepts and skill level. $35 per hour, includes a one hour assessment at no charge.
  • Eddie Eagle Childrens Safety
    Even though you may teach your children to never touch a firearm when you are not present, do you have confidence that they will have the proper skills and understanding of what to do when out of your immediate control and subjected to peer pressure. Accidental firearms deaths and accidents are at all time low, mainely because of programs like Eddie Eagle. This workshop teaches your children to STOP, DON'T TOUCH, LEAVE THE AREA, GET AN ADULT if they are to come in contact with a firearm. Make sure your shildren have the skills to safely react when encountering a firearm. Cost is $50 per parent and child or $400 for groups of 10 or more children. Non-profit 501C(3) groups receive a 15 percent discount.
  • Refuse to Be a Victim
    Experts agree that the single most important step toward ensuring your personal safety is making the decision to refuse to be a victim. That means that you must have an overall personal safety strategy in place before you need it.
    Through a four-hour seminar (shorter presentations are available) called Refuse To Be A Victim®, you can learn the personal safety tips and techniques you need to avoid dangerous situations and avoid becoming a victim.
    Hundreds of federal, state, and local law enforcement officials across the country have implemented Refuse To Be A Victim® into their crime prevention and community policing initiatives. Check our Schedule for upcoming class dates or contact us to arrange a class for your group.
  • Teens and Young Women’s Awareness Seminars
    Defeating the Myths of Self Defense seminars provide real-life experiences and information to women, young and old alike, that will help keep them safe in an evermore dangerous world. Should you really walk to your car with your keys between your knuckles? What do I do if grabbed on a dark street? Should I really yell "fire" instead of help if attacked? This seminar examines many of the dangerous myths of self defense and provides optimum soultions and tools to prepare to survive a violent encounter. Free to school or civic groups.   • BSA Marksmanship Merit Badge
    On Target is proud to provide training for the Boy Scouts of America Rifle Shooting Merit Badge. Using BSA approved materials and equipment, we offer this training at our Hamilton Fort classroom and range or at your location. Our instructors are all NRA Certified and able to conduct this training in a safe and comfortable environment. Cost is $200 per class, including range time at our facility.
